Some rubbing/scuffing to leather. Binding tight, pages bright and clean. First Edition. Printed for private circulation: Armorial bookplate on front pastedown indicates this is a presentation copy, given to Thomas Cradock Watson "by the Master and Wardens of the Saddlers Company, Saddlers Hall, Cheapside, E.C., Jan 10, 1896." Illustrated with several fold out plates, many of which were changed or altogether eliminated in the later edition. Collated, complete.Detailing the history of the company from the twelfth century to around 1700, illustrations include views of Guild quarters, its plate, and facsimiles of old documents.With a presentation bookplate to the front pastedown, from 'the Master and Wardens of the Saddlers Company', date 1920 and awarded to George Ebsworth Bullen, Esq.
