Not in Driver, despite the fact this book appears to fit her criteria for inclusion in her bibliography - i.e. she includes Canadian cookery book published before 1950 and over 16 pages in length, etc. This Winnipeg-based cookery book was published about 1948, judging from an advertisement for Five Roses Flour on page [31] which states that Five Roses flour has been enjoyed "for over 60 years". Five Roses Flour was founded in 1888. Oblong. 21.5 X 14 cm. From the preface: "With the proceeds from What's Cookin'?' the Women's Advertising Club of Winnipeg plans to carry on a series of scholarships begun last year, for top students in Advertising at the School of Commerce of the University of Manitoba, and in the Extension Evening Course at the University." 80 pages., 22 X 14 cm. Table of contents lists cocktails, appetizers, soups, main dishes, five o'clock rush, recipes from around the world, salads, desserts, jams and sauses, miscellaneous. Thus, comprehensive range of recipes. Advertisements included. Near Fine condition in black card covers, lettered in yellow. Plastic ring (not coil) binding. Illustration from photo of City Hydro shows three women in white attire in kitchen. Now obsolete Winnipeg telephone number on this page has only six digits. An advertisement for Blue Ribbon coffee includes caricatures of two Aboriginal men with feathers and headband enjoying the coffee and saying to each other, "How, And How". A rare item.
