Descripción Londres, Baldwin, Cradock et Joy, (vol I has 4pp of pub. ads from Longman, Hurst, Rees, Orme, and Brown)., 1818. First UK Editions. Text in French. Early circulating or subscription library copies with 'December 1818' headed inked table of return dates to the paste-downs of each volume; also 'SMITH' is stamped in small capitals to rfep and rear paste-down of each volume - no other library attributes throughout. 8vo hardcovers in the original blue paper covered boards underneath outer paper covering; uncut edges; original printed paper spine labels; vol I pp: [4 pub. ads.], xvi, 436; vol II pp: vii, [1], 423; Vol III pp: vii, [1], 428. Remarkably in sound structural condition when considering the age and fragility of the thin the bindings, and internally very good with well-preserved text blocks: apart from vol I having a partial front hinge split, boards, spines and text blocks are very secure (front board of vol I slightly wobbly); text block edges a little dust-dulled, but leaves are bright, clean, unannotated and without any tears - I can find only one turned corner; spine ends and fore-corners bumped and worn; outer paper covering has age-darkening and (esp. vol I) torn away sections; spine labels and also age-darkened, but all present and still legible. Returns label of vol I is partially torn away, but labels appear to have between 11 - 14 inked entries, and each label has a large inked cross over it - it appears these volumes were in library use only for the five month period between Decemwber 1818 to April 1819. PLEASE NOTE: This is a heavy item and extra towards delivery cost may be requested. An enquiry is recommended - especially for overseas delivery. Nº de ref. de la librería 395
