Descripción:

The collection, consisting of eighteen items, would appear to derive from J. L. Cocker, to whom one of the receipts is made out. Eight posters, all but the last in fair condition, aged and lightly worn; and all but Number printed in black and white. Items Three and Eight have the firm's address repeatedly printed on the reverse, so that the particular timepieces in which the customer is interested can be cut away from the sheet. TWO (58 x 45.5 cm). Headed 'Supplementary Pattern Sheet of Clocks, Manufactured by Jerome & Company, Limited, Liverpool.' Engraving of 'Factory - NEW HAVEN, CONN.' Twenty-four timepieces illustrated; each with name and brief description. THREE (49.5 x 30.5 cm). Headed 'Alfred Lea, 72, Albion Street, Leeds. The cheapest wholesale house for clocks. Headed 'John Greenwood & Sons, Manufacturers, 6, 7, & 8, St. John's Square, Clerkenwell, London.' Seventeen timepieces illustrated; each with reference number and brief description. The firm's address has been deleted, with the new address given in a stamp in the top left-hand corner. Printed by Clover & Barnes, London. FIVE (37.5 x 24.5 cm). Lithograph in brown and black. Headed 'John Greenwood & Sons, 6, St. John's Square, Clerkenwell, London, Importers of the Seth Thomas' Clock Company's superior American clocks.'
