Descripción:

Fine first printing in fine dustwrapper which is not price clipped. The wraparound is also present with one small closed nick. Unread copy in perfect condition. Signed by the author to the title page without inscription. The date 2005 and location Hay-on-Wye has been added. This is a near contemporary signing and the author has added his trademark doodle with the publisher's colophon being transformed into a smiling face. As such a very attractive copy. Interestingly Section 4 of The Bone Clocks begins with a reference to the Hay Festival: 'Welsh rain gods piss onto the roofs, festival tents and umbrellas of Hay-on-Wye and also on.' As a keen collector myself I make every effort to provide a high level of service. Enquiries welcomed. Nearly 100 David Mitchell siigned first editions in stock. N° de ref. de la librería 004025

Sinopsis:

A reluctant voyager crossing the Pacific in 1850; a disinherited composer blagging a precarious livelihood in between-the-wars Belgium; a high-minded journalist in Governor Reagan's California; a vanity publisher fleeing his gangland creditors; a genetically modified 'dinery server' on death-row; and Zachry, a young Pacific Islander witnessing the nightfall of science and civilisation - the narrators of Cloud Atlas hear each other's echoes down the corridor of history, and their destinies are changed in ways great and small.

In his captivating third novel, David Mitchell erases the boundaries of language, genre and time to offer a meditation on humanity's dangerous will to power, and where it may lead us.

Sinopsis:

Souls cross ages like clouds cross skies . . .

Six interlocking lives - one amazing adventure. In a narrative that circles the globe and reaches from the 19th century to a post-apocalyptic future, Cloud Atlas erases the boundaries of time, genre and language to offer an enthralling vision of humanity's will to power, and where it will lead us.
