Slender 12mo hardcover. Brown paper-covered boards with titles on pastedown labels on front & spine. First Edition. Very Good+/: front cover has small indentation at top edge and diagonal scratch (approx. 3") along left corner; Some foxing to FFEP and title page, text otherwise clean, bright & unmarked. Frontis Photo; Preface by Grant Overton. 64pp. The poetry of Charles Divine, born in BInghamton, New York 1889, graduate of Cornell and writer for the New York Sun until his enlistment in the army in 1917 upon which he subsequently served in France with the 27th Division. His poems cover his experiences in Greenwich Village (The Lavender Lantern) and WWll (Overton states in his preface that the book should have been subtitled 'From Greenwich Village to Spartanburg'.) Poems previously appeared in N.Y. Sun, The Smart Set, The Wadsworth Gas Attack, Rio Grande Rattler and Judge and range from the comic to the wistful. A lovely copy. #70011.
