Ex libris Samuel James, Baron Warino. Binding is early calfskin mottled, spine elaborately gilt in compartments, five raised bands, moted edges. Very good copy. Original edition. Henri Estienne`s first original work, grek- Latin lexicon, phrases, and expressions borrowed from the Greek by Cicero, and translated by him in his writings. The second part consist of all the Greek texts, with Cicero`s parallel Latin translation. In the lengthy preface, Henri Estienne reminds the reader of the numerous contributions to scholarship which his father Robert has made- and is still making. (Schreiber, 143). Adams, S-1755. Rare collection of textual comments and corrections to the text of Cicero, made by the Young Henri Estienne. Although Renouard states that this work forms one volume with the preceding, it is in the fact quite separate and distinct from it, having its own title-page and preface.
