This book is the third in a series of 'Prisoner' related stories, the first 'Think Tank' published in 1984, the second 'When in Rome', published in 1986. In 1966 a team of writers, actors, and technicians took a very simple idea and turned it into a very complex television series, which ran for 17, 50 minute episodes. The main character, seen in each episode, played by Patrick McGoohan, was called No.6, his only other title was that of the programme 'The Prisoner'. This fairytale place was controlled by No.1, through successive leaders, each called No.2. The former was never seen, and the latter were frequently replaced, having met defeat at the hands of No.6. 'The Prisoner' has become a classic of the small screen. The title of this book may refer to the the idyllic existence experienced by the village inhabitants, or to the apparent immunity from harm enjoyed by No.6. The main theme is of Capture versus Escape, or vice-versa. The TV series was addictive, with viewers thinking about it for hours, trying to unravel the mystery. The author hopes that reading his mind-stretching books based on the series, will have a similar effect. This rare 'Prisoner' related book is tight and in excellent condition.
