2nd revised edition hardcover, bound in dark blue cloth, with gilt lettering and decoration on front cover, and same on spine, is in Poor condition, having the spine cloth partly detached (attached by only one side), and that spine cloth has slightly dimmed gilt, and missing top, sides, and bottom edge portions (see photo), and some light rubbing/scuffing to surface; cover corners are bumped and worn; some rubbing/scuffing to covers; discreet bookseller sticker at bottom of first fixed endpaper: "William George's Sons Ltd. 89 Park Street, Bristol 1" ; former owner has penciled a few notations on first blank page after the reverse of the first free endpaper, and at beginning of index; some foxing throughout volume; originally published with uncut pages with deckled edges, and some pages may still be uncut. Illustrated with a frontispiece painting of the Church of Ste. Gudule by A. Forestier, and with b&w photograph plates throughout volume.
