The top and foot of the covers are rather faded to a depth of about ¼ inch; the endpapers are lightly foxed; otherwise, internally clean and fresh; the dust jacket is torn and frayed. Adapted into English and edited by Nicholas de Gren. London, Nicholson & Watson, 1943. 4to. 102 pp. Original blue cloth, title on cover. Cameron went to Russia around 1779 at the invitation of Catherine the Great as architect and landscape designer: he had spent time in Rome studying classical forms, and was deeply influenced by this stay, and by the English landscape movement when he designed the magnificent palaces, gardens and pavilions in Russia.
