Descripción Arion Press, San Francisco, 1987. Hardcover. 53p., immense folio on finest paperstock bound in flecked bark-paper and openweave brown linen with a printed spine label. A fine unblemished copy, one of 400 (of 425), signed by Bosman. After braining the woman's infant, her eighth child, the warriors assigned her and her wet-nurse companion, to an extended family; the two women rose up early and managed to slay and to escape, killing two men, two women and six children (a woman and seventh child escaped the escapers). Cotton Mather gave Hannah both thumbs up; Whittier one thumb; Hawthorne was doubtful about Hannah and excoriated Mather; Thoreau re-wrote the story as reportage, with fictional touches: Hannah's child was brained against an apple tree.
