Descripción:

Black and white illustrations, 96pp, 11 x 8 1/2 inches, LACKING WRAPPERS. Some edge tears and 1 inch chip to first page, occasional light pencil notations; good, clean condition. The author states in his preface (Don’t Be A Sucker) the following: "This book exposes many of the most dangerous schemes and frauds that are being perpetrated today. It is up to date and does not deal with obsolete swindles." Thus we find blow-by-blow descriptions of insidious trickery such as the Jewelry Swindle, the Violin Fraud, the Gold Brick Scheme and others. The bulk of the book, however, details low-end trickery in the section All About Carnival Games. Exposed are the Cigarette Shooting Gallery, the Deceptive Baseball Rack, and many many other so-called Games of Chance. The book concludes with an exposé of marked cards, crooked dice, slot machines and roulette. Close reading of the book, states the author, Furnishes Protection to All. The Bunco Book has been republished over the years; this 1927 edition is a presumed first edition. N° de ref. de la librería
