"A 'Jack of all trades-Master of none' is the description Joe Johnson often applies to himself. Brought up in central Ohio, he quickly developed a passion for hot cars in high school when his cousin took him for a ride in a '57 Corvette. Joe was attending Ohio State University when Carroll Shelby started to produce and race Cobras. However, Joe had to tone down his passion for cars and blend it with building the American Dream of college, family, a professional career, a house in the suburbs, two cars in the driveway and college funds for the two kids playing in the year. He did manage to have some fun with a '64 and later a '66 Corvette while teaching high school in Ohio. After 12 years of teaching, Joe moved to Florida {with wife, kids, and dog} to start a career in the aerospace industry. As the two kids were nearing college age, he reached that 'mid-life crisis' and went through some major challenges. No promotions at work, depression, alcoholism, and divorce spiraled him into the pit of darkness. Treatment, counseling and medication pulled him out of the pit and he has since been on the road to recovery. In 1991 Joe met Nancy and her daughter Aja. Soon a family man again, he set his sights on early retirement {at age 55} to have more time to dedicate to his family and to delight in completing all knids of projects for them. After Joe retired from the aerospace industry, he went back to teaching. Joe has since enjoyed projects that were the homeowner weekend variety: install cabinets, finish off the attic, build an entertainment center, painting, plumbing, electrical, etc. The project described in this book was a significant departure from the weekend efforts. As you follow the story, the initial 5 months was concentrated effort to get the car on the road. Joe understood the importance of momentum. The next year and a half saw troubleshooting, refinements and enjoyment of the car in its very rough, unfinished state. The final month or two of finish work brought the project to completion." This book has 159 pages and is profusely illustrated. The text contains NO internal marks whatsoever. The book is a SIGNED PRESENTATION copy from the author, Joe Johnson. Overall, this is a FINE copy of this EXTREMELY SCARCE title. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. N° de ref. de la librería 065729
