This book which contains four separate and different books or pamphlets is a BINDING COPY, both boards are detached and the spine is detached and only about 80% whole, but does have the spine labels. All of the books are complete and three are in immaculate condition, but the third has condition problems. Ink was spilled on this pamphlet and some words have been lost (not very many) and while it is still 99% readable, it is a problem that cannot be fixed. The title of the first book continues from above: "easie recovery of tithes, church-rates, etc. . . . .The second book present here is: [Besse, Joseph]. A vindication of a book, intitled, a brief account of many of the prosecutions of the people call'd Quakers, etc. lately presented to the members of both houses of parliament; shewing the fallacy and injustice of the calculations and remarks in a late book call'd An Examination, etc; The evasions and disingenuity of the clergy of the diocese of London in their answers and relections; and the falshood and inconsistency of the intelligences by them published. To which are added, Remarks on the poor vicar's plea with Bishop Burnet's description of the ecclesiastical courts. London: J. Sowle, 1737. [1], 138p. The third pamplet present here is [Besse, Joseph]. [[A supplemental] replication by a parson's friend, to the country parson's papers and plea. With a discourse on reason and wisdom; shewing, that reason is the perfection of wisdom. To which the Quaker epistle from their yearly meeting 1735, is annexed at large. London: T. Cooper, 1736. 30p. The fourth and last book or pamphlet included here is: [Hayter, Thomas]. An examination of a book, lately printed by the Quakers; And then distributed to the members of both houses of parliament . . . (repeats the title of the first book). Our Internet business began in 2001. The approximately 4,000 Internet books and pamphlets are kept on the premises, but cannot be viewed as a whole. However, we can show and sell individual titles upon request. If you can call ahead, it would be appreciated. Unless you have called ahead, we cannot show Internet books on Sundays. We appreciate all of our customers and try to serve them well and fulfill their special needs.
