Acerca de

"Bravo Fortissimo Glenn Gould: The Mind of a Canadian Virtuoso" is an exceptionally written biography of Canadian piano virtuoso Glenn Gould, a musical genius who was said to hold a magical power over his audience. Through personal interviews with family, friends, and reviewers of the renowned pianist, author Helen Mesaros captures the true nature of this gifted man. Richly informative and highly entertaining, "Bravo Fortissimo Glenn Gould" is a truly "human" story that uncovers Gould's life one layer at a time.

About the Author:

Dr. Helen Mesaros is a psychiatrist and Director of the Intensive Psychotherapy Unit at Toronto East General Hospital. Born and raised in Yugoslavia, she completed her medical studies at the University of Belgrade. Upon her immigration to Canada in 1971, she specialized in psychiatry at the University of Toronto. As a physician and a fervent admirer of Gould's music, Dr. Mesaros was distressed by his untimely death in 1982. She became interested in why this gifted musician died so early in a city filled with excellent medical services. Her interest gradually grew into extensive biographical research into the life and death of Glenn Gould. Dr. Mesaros was interviewed on a CBC television documentary on the topic of Glenn Gould in 1998. Mesaros presently resides in Toronto and enjoys music, poetry, and spending quality time with her grandchildren.
