Brigadier General Sitwell's study of the English-Scottish border lands of Northumberland and Cumberland is mainly military as his sub-title"From a Soldier's Point of View" acknowledges. He briefly studies the history of both counties before examining the castles and other military locations then listing the historic battles in the area , the Border Laws, Wars of the Roses and ending witth a summary of roads giving access to sites mentioned. 278 pages, 12 b/w plates (drawings by Bertram), one photo, large folded map in pocket at back. Dark green covers with gilt front/spine titles VG+ with unobtrusive speckle damp marks both boards, sprinkle foxing to e/papers, small area of pasted paper on lower front pastedown but not indicative of library use, neatly inked name top FFEP, text block otherwise excellent. E/papers decorated with arms, large folded colour map in pocket shows little indication of use. N° de ref. de la librería 002732
