Hardcover. Small octavo (6.63 x 5.62 inches). 60pp. Red treated cloth with gilt titles on spine & upper board. Off-white patterned endpapers. Printed on white paper stock. The third (1976) Thelema Publications edition of "The Book of the Law," which is in mostly drawn from the 1942 US edition but with some of the features of the 1938 UK edition, and with a few other alterations. "THE BOOK / OF THE LAW" lettered across the front board and "THE BOOK OF THE LAW" down the spine. The title page is devoid of imprint, and reads simply "THE BOOK OF THE LAW / (technically called / LIBER / AL vel / LEGIS / SUB FIGURA / CCXX / AS DELIVERED BY / XCIII=418 / to / DCLXVI)." Unusually the page facing the title is blank, with the design featuring the O.T.O. dove and chalice lamen and the eleven-fold cross and facsimile "Baphomet" signature, which appeared on that page in the 1938 UK edition, instead appearing on a page at the end of the Introduction. The verso of the title page has a short list of previous editions of "The Book of the Law" starting in 1909, the Library of Congress numbers and ISBN, and, at the bottom of the page, " Thelema Publications / P.O. Box 1093 / Kings Beach, California 95719." Somewhat inexplicably, a cancel-sticker in the center of the same page has a short, five-line catalogue-type description of the book, but with the date March 1973. The page adjacent to this carries a new Preface. Curiously this preface is in part constructed from text extrapolated from the two page statement on the O.T.O. that was printed at the rear of the 1942 US edition. In this case the final 5 paragraphs, and their explanatory caption, have been moved to the page facing the verso of the title-page, and retitled "Preface." Beneath these five paragraphs are two new paragraphs which include the information that one of the reasons for the publication is "that there have been some unauthorized and incomplete publications of the Book of the Law which contain some glaring errors." Below this is printed "The Ordo Templi Orientis / Post Office Box 2043 / Dublin, Calif. 94566 / [&below - to the right] A A" The first four paragraphs of the statement on the O.T.O. remain in their usual position at the end of the volume under the heading "O.T.O." For the rest the contents reproduce the Introduction, text of "The Book of the Law" (Liber CCXX), and "Tunis Comment" as per the corrected 1942 US edition, with the exception that the words "Democracy Dodders" that were omitted from that edition have been restored. A colophon at the rear repeats the O.T.O. postal address and adds "Printed in the United States of America." Some darkening to the half-title page and its verso. There is a dark patch, about the size of a cigarette packet, on the title page, which repeats, considerably lighter, through the two leaves behind (this presumably caused by the insertion into a book of a piece of paper - now long gone - which offset). Edges lightly browned, otherwise a VG+ copy. N° de ref. de la librería 41715
