"When John Gielgud was acting in Chichester in 1971, he wrote a book of reminiscences recalling actors and actresses he had known and, in many cases, worked with. The book, called DISTINGUISHED COMPANY, has long been out of print. Since then Sir John has written a good many equally delightful brief portraits, including those of several close friends, among them Edith Evans, Sybil Thorndike and Ralph Richardson and of other actoirs, actresses, directors and writers with whom he has been associated. These essays have now been collected for the first time under the heading TIMES FOR REFLECTION and are the first part of this omnibus volume, which also contains DISTINGUISHED COMPANY." This book has 214 pages and is illustrated. Because of the poor quality paper used {high acid content} by the publisher, Hodder and Stoughton, Ltd., the pages of the text have taken on a darker uniform patina/hue. The dust jacket is NOT price-clipped. Overall, a FINE copy with FINE dust jacket of this VERY SCARCE title. N° de ref. de la librería 023205
