When the need arose, unscrupulous agents exploited this situation resulting in a bloody coup d'tat.

About the Author:

Dunstan Macauley was born in Monrovia, Liberia in 1936. He obtained his elementary and high school education both in Sierra Leone and Liberia. An electrical engineer by profession, Mr. Macauley is a graduate of the College of Advanced Technology now the University of Loughborough in England.

Returning home after graduation, he has worked in the private as well as the public sector. Among his many interests are writing, music, sports, and farming. All of which he has pursued with as much vigor as his chosen profession. His contribution to the development of sports in Liberia is well known. Apart from playing Football (Soccer) and participating in Track and Field Athletics, he has done a lot of work with sports administration, taking the Liberian national teams in both sports to many major international competitions.

Mr. Macauley is married. He is the proud father of six children and six grand children.
