Descripción Monarch, 1963. Softcover / Paperback. Condición: Fine. No Jacket. Paperback. On December 30, 1950, Carl and Thelma Mosser of Arwood, Illinois, were happily en route to Albuquerque, New Mexico, with their three children - Ronald, 7; Gary 5; and Pamela, 3 - for a family reunion. They were travelling on Route 66 near Luther, Oklahoma, when they spotted Billy Cook, a half-crazed fugitive, waving a signal of distress. The Mossers, kind-hearted people, stopped to lend assistance. That was the beginning of an ordeal of terror for the Mossers - three nightmarish days spent with Cook's gun trained on them while they travelled almost aimlessly through Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico and Arkansas. The ending came with the brutal murder of the entire Mosser family, which set off the biggest manhunt in the history of the nation. In the 12 days that followed, 2000 peace officers trailed a gun-crazy, mad-dog terrorist through 14 states and Mexico. 128pp. mass market p/back.
