A couple light 2" scratches to DJ rear panel. Gilt lettering to yellow spine, dark gray boards. New plastic over DJ. Clean, tight, bright. 30 pp (unnumbered). Based upon a Norwegian tale found in many story collections, including "Popular Tales from the Norse" by Peter Christian Asbjornsen and Jorgen Moe, published in 1888. It is the story of how Boots saves his father's field from the ravages of the troll's wild stallions, and with their help, he rides up the glass mountain and wins the princess's hand. These gorgeous illustrations by the famous Gennady Spirin (who is widely respected as one of the finest children's book artists today) are highly detailed, stunning, lush, timeless.
