Volume 1 only. Oblong 4to. Recent (probably last 25-50 years) half calf over original paper-covered boards with new endpapers. 134 pp. Presentation copy from Corfe to Joseph Gear, with an inscription from Corfe to Gear (Salisbury, 1805) to the recto of the index page. J. Gear stamped to title page, and his red morocco title onlay (with the title and Gear's name) to front board. Also bound in are two hand-written pieces of music (one labeled "For Mr. Gear") and two original illustrations with descriptions. Light rubbing to head, heel, and corners. Board edges rubbed through, with some scuffing to boards. Upper fore-corners slightly bumped. Title page and second page with small closed tears to fore-edges repaired with archival tape. Light to moderate foxing throughout. Very good with faults as noted. Joseph Gear (1768-1853) was an artist and musician, employed at Drury Lane Theatre, London, and later at the Tremont Street Theatre, Boston. He was also the father of American artist John William Gear. N° de ref. de la librería 425158

Orders usually ship within 2 business days. Shipping costs are based on books weighing 2.2 LB, or 1 KG. If your book order is heavy or oversized, we may contact you to let you know extra shipping is required.

International customers, please note that we ship via the US Post Office, which DOES NOT offer Surface shipping. The 'surface' price reflects the cost to ship via Priority Mail International Flat Rate envelope. These envelopes are large enough to hold a standard hardcover novel. Oversize books, heavy books, and sets will require additional postage, a total cost of at least $28 to Mexico/Canada, and $60 to the rest of the world.

For domestic customers, our default shipping method is via Priority Mail Flat Rate envelope (again, for a standard size hardcover), or Media Mail (for oversize books, heavy books, and sets). Expedited shipping is via UPS Ground or Priority Mail.
