Unsigned AN, heavy stock 3½" X 2½" calling card, n.p., n.d. [dated 1935 June 12 on verso in pencil]. Near fine. "I am very sorry but I am dining out Thursday evening & so cannot come to your soirÈe." Though unaddressed, this was sent to music critic and pianist Irving Schwerke (1893-1975), who lived and worked in Paris; Straus's husband would have been minister to France at the time.
