Three pages, cr. 8vo, foxed and grubby, but text clear and complete. The subject is his book, Bidcombe Hill, with other rural poems published by William Miller whose Albemarle Street premises were taken over by John Murray I in 1812. He says that the friend who collected the "drawing of the Hermitage" which was copied for the print in his book mentioned that Miller was to have written to him "on that business [the drawing] and on another subject which turns out to be the "most unmannerly attack in the Eclectic Review, which I believe I can prove, was put into that publication at the instigation of a bigotted,& hotheaded anabaptist. He outlines his wishes for reviews (Quarterly etc), enlisting Miller's help - so that "the real character of [his] publication" maky be established by "competent" men. He is pleased with compliments paid by "two distinguished writers, and Mr Bowles". He asks for details of number of copies sold in London and how many remain in hand. Could he supply a copy to his friend, Nares, if he should contact. He encloses a letter to Nichols of "The Gentleman's Magazine" which he hopes a servant can deliver. N° de ref. del artículo 7746
