Descripción
An uncommon atlas of Framingham, Mass., this large-format atlas contains 8 numbered plates: 7 are double-page maps, and the first plate is a map of the Framingham which is printed on one page. The maps are black and white with color applied to streets, rivers, and other large areas (appears to be printed, not hand-colored). Lot lines are included as are many buildings, some with the current owners as of 1875. It was apparently published with the help of patrons who are listed in a page in the front matter of this atlas and was "Published under the direction of Jas. P. Beirne" in Pittsfield, MA. In all likelihood, this was issued in a small printing. The covers are textured, blindstamped red cloth; the spine is red leather, and it is quite deteriorated, but the atlas is still tight. The blank end papers are foxed, but the maps are clean and bright. This is an uncommon atlas. Framingham is situated on the Sudbury River, was incorporated in 1700, and is in Middlesex County. Please inquire if you would like more information. Size: 20 high x 16 Wide Ref: LeGear. Atlases of the United States, 4919 ; Maps; Folio 13" - 23" tall. N° de ref. del artículo 20904
