Descripción
"There has been no intention on our part to turn the testimonies gathered in this book into an attempt to establish hierarchies. We have chosen an open-ended presentation, in the hope that it will have a follow-up. We merely wanted to show something of the richness and diversity of the Bucharest art scene. This is but the top of the iceberg; Bucharest is still a capital with a dramatically insufficient number of art studios, and this 'guided tour' should draw the attention of its inhabitant to the need to become better acquainted with its artists, to nurture and care for them. We have tried to provide information in a consice form, resorting to a standardised format, even at the risk of thereby impoverishing the description of artists' careers. The artists careers. The artists themselves have chosen the texts included herein, and we can but express our gratitude to their authors for the permission to reprint them." Artists' studios reviewed include: Gheorghe Anghel, Ioana Batranu, Mihai Buculei, Marius Bunea, Stefan Calta, Alexandru Chira, Florin Ciubotaru, Darue Dup, Marin Gherasim, Vasile Gorduz, Sorin Ilfoveanu, Petru Lucaci, Marius Leonte, Henry Mavrodin, Theodor Moraru, Horea Pastina, Neculai Paduraru, Silvia Radu, Mircea Roman, Ion Salisteanu, Ovidiu Simionescu, Mihai Sarbulescu, Mircea Spataru, Vladdimir Setran, Napoleon Tiron, Corneliu Vasilescu, Paul Vasilescu, Aurel Vlad, Bodgan Vladuta, and Vladimir Zamfirescu.
