1p., 4to. Bifolium. Addressed on reverse of second leaf to 'His Grace The Duke of Wellington | London | Europe'. With postmark of 'LIVERPOOL SHIP'. In fair condition, on aged paper. 47 lines of closely-written text. A ranting missive, the reading of which requires Wellington's sense of duty. It begins: 'I presume are [sic] aware that God in his Adorable providence has distinguished you in times that are past (well known to the world at large) and made you the honnoured [sic] instrument in his hand in submitting our grate [sic] pestiential Scourge of God (Bony part [sic]) Which has entwined arround [sic] your head lorals [sic] of and Rinown [sic]'. The letter carries two autograph notes by Wellington. The first, on the reverse of the first page, reads: '1843 July 20 | | Anonymous | no Signature | About O'Connell & his Repeal . | Hopes he may be put down'. The second of Wellington's notes, on the reverse of the second leaf, is illegible. N° de ref. de la librería 14587
