First edition of a classic of investing, written by one of Warren Buffett's role models. This scarce first edition appeared in 1927, not long before the Wall Street stock market crash of 1929, which heralded the beginning of the Great Depression. 8vo, x + 366pp. With a frontispiece and several charts, including two folding. Hardcover, bound in original maroon cloth with gilt lettering to spine and front cover. In very good condition. Binding and hinges are intact and firm. Text is clean and unmarked. Previous owner's tidy ink stamp to front endpaper and corner of last page of text. Slight tanning to title and half-title page, and occasionally to text. One of the folding charts has a closed tear (no loss). Binding is in very nice condition with minor shelf-wear to extremities. Gilt on spine is slightly dulled but still quite legible. All in all, a very nice example of an important work which remains revelant today. N° de ref. de la librería 005563
