Descripción

4pp., 8vo. Bifolium. Disbound. A frail survival, on aged paper, with chipping to gutter and extremities. The first page begins, under the heading 'Antiquarian Etching Club', 'The Antiquarian Etching Club was formed with the view of rescuing from oblivion, and preserving to posterity, some mementos of those venerable works of our forefathers which by the Antiquary are contemplated with peculiar interest, and which time, ignorance, and the destructive spirit of innovation and so-called improvement, are united for ever to obliterate.' This is followed by the 'Plan of the Club' and its five 'Rules', the latter signed by 'H. W. King, Hon. Sec. | 13, Cottage Grove, Bow Road.' At foot of first page: 'Subscribers will please apply to John Russell Smith, 36, Soho Square, London.' The following three pages list, in small print, the 'Contents of Volumes already issued. | With descriptive Letter-press.' 249 items are listed, beginning with Vol.1, no.1: 'Font; Shopland Church, Essex'; and ending with Vol.3, no.71: 'Old House adjoining Willesden Church, Middlesex.' No copy traced on COPAC or OCLC WorldCat. N° de ref. de la librería 16546
