"Ana Linnermann's worked is informed by a desire to pore carefully over many such things that inhabit the world, considering what is clearest what is clearest about them and simulaneously, whatever it is that hide behind them; what it was that guided their making and which part of them was the result of the supposedly unexpected. Things that awaken or confirm in this artist an intense attraction towards life's commonplace, leading her to examine them as closely as possible in an attempt to understand their worldly, workday nature, as if she were seeing them for the first time. In this sense, not unlike the work of French writer Georges Perec, her word zeroes in on whatever might be specific about an ordinary object or a prosaic situation, such as Perec's attempt to describe and inventory all 'that which has no importance' in a single Paris street. However, such an interest does not evince a fascination with what it is that each available thing offers in exchange for its possession, whether in terms of material satisfaction or of symbolic gain. In her creative investigations, Ana Linnermann is not moved by anything similiar to the insatiable desire for merchandise which moves the young protagonists of LES CHOSES {THE THINGS} {by the same Georges Perec} - a couple for whom the ownership of objects has been mistaken for life's pleasure. Nor is she particularly attracted to the alleged beauty inherent to natural products. What does intrique and stir the artist is the process of understanding how things that exist in thge everyday world can take on and exchange meanings, what makes them be what they are and how they can become other things, too."{Moacir Dos Anjos}. This book has 176 pages and is profusely illustrated. The text contains NO internal marks whatsoever. Overall, this is a FINE copy of this EXTREMELY SCARCE title. Size: 4to - over 9¾" - 12" tall.
