A chilling and effective novel expanded from a story published in WEIRD TALES in 1948. One of only 1200 copies printed. Iintroduction by E. Hoffmann Price; illustrations by Stephen E. Fabian. Although issued only after the author's death, this was originally intended for publication by the Prime Press in 1953 (see Chalker & Owings p. 354). With a lengthy INSCRIPTION by the publisher, who was one of the principles of the Prime Press, to Alexander Phillips and his family, "I hope you will enjoy this one, Shade of the Mislaid Charm!" Philips' novella, THE MISLAID CHARM, was the first title to be issued by the Prime Press. A fine copy in a bright jacket lacking a small chip from the bottom of the front panel.
