Mr. Catterson Smith was outstanding in the world of Art Education and what he did for Birmingham will never be forgotten. .he was a man of great intellectual power with our understanding of students.It must have given him great pleasure to know how much he was beloved in Birmingham." Became principal of the Birmingham School of Art following Catterson Smith's retirement. Robert Catterson Smith worked on the designs of Burne-Jones to ready them for printing.
