Despot Infinitus, 2023. NEW. Softcover. Pages: 214. Photographs: 330 -- The already well-known naval and maritime author Zvonimir Freivogel returned to the subject from the land warfare and wrote a book about Austro-Hungarian artillery in the First World War. The topic of Austro-Hungarian artillery is rarely described in Croatian-speaking literature, and apart from a few articles in professional and popular magazines or encyclopedias, there are no works dealing with this area. The author therefore decided to fill that gap with a small encyclopedia of Austro-Hungarian cannons, howitzers, mortars, trench mortars and machine guns, with an overview of all artillery weapons used by the Austro-Hungarian armed forces during the First World War. After the introductory text, there are chapters on individual types of artillery, from field and mountain, through fortress, siege and coastal, to anti-aircraft guns and weapons used in trench warfare, such as trench mortars and machine guns. The book is richly illustrated and supplemented with tables with tactical and technical data of the guns themselves and data on the organization of the Austro-Hungarian field, mountain and heavy artillery before and during the First World War. It is hoped that the book would be of interest to the English speaking readers as well. N° de ref. del artículo 01988
