The author presents us with this book thanks to his vast professional experience, where he has had the opportunity to get to know and assess a great many companies and cruise ships.
The work is mainly focused on an in-depth knowledge of the leading cruise ships operating in the world, with a thorough analysis of each one, so that the reader is not only provided with comprehensive information, but also different subjective appraisals obtained through personal visits and quality control checks conducted.

Another part of the work is given over to other essential aspects of the world of cruises, ranging from an historical account, which was a must, where we will observe the historical development, primarily in the last century, and other subjects considered of interest, such as wining and dining (one of the aspects given the closest attention by the cruise operator and of great importance in differentiating a good cruise ship), types of cabins (their features and differences), life on board (differences between companies and ships), geographic operating areas with their different routes, the various theme cruises..., and finally, a section given over to river cruises-sometimes overlooked but no less interesting and attractive, their runs, special features, and so on.
