Establishing trees on these lands is a challenging task and requires skill and planning. In light of failure of many plantation programs in past it is imperative that the manpower is trained for plantation programs to achieve good results in field. This prompted the authors to bring out this manuscript which can help as a guide to foresters researchers and students. The book would be of interest to those who are concerned with land use in forest and soil conservation agriculture and forest colleges and universities. There are total eight chapters chapter first introduces plantation forestry as a science and spells the need and origin of large scale plantation. Second and third chapters are devoted to equipments and techniques used in plantation forestry.
