Boosey & Hawkes 10-10 wooden Bb clarinet No cracks Splits, Chips or pinning. Wooden body and bell with an ebonite barrel. This was often referred to as a Tropical barrel which indicates that it was used in the Forces when playing abroad in places like Singapore etc where the climate could cause an instrument to go out of tune very easily. Has been fully overhauled and in full working order, that is to say it has been striped down, cleaned, oiled, re corked, re padded etc. so all good to go. Key work is pretty good, bit worn in places as one may expect from a second hand clarinet of this calibre. The 10-10 has a larger bore which means it requires a bit more blow. However, this gives it a richer warmer sound that I have heard some say as a very English sound or the Jack Bryner sound. Has no pre Action vent which makes a bit older. Do not know the age of this instrument but the serial number is 184209 . Comes with an ebonite mouth piece and a Rovner type Ligature. Plus a case.
