The objective was to determine the water footprint (HHF) in its three variants: physical, economic and social through physical (EFA), economic (EEA) and social (ESA) water efficiency indexes, as well as the physical (PFA), economic (PEA) and social (PSA) productivity of water used in the production of apple (Malus domestica L.) Red Delicious variety produced in northern Mexico, in the main producing states: Chihuahua, Coahuila and Durango in 2022. Mathematical models of water efficiency and productivity were used for individual crops, as well as at the aggregate level for several crops. The independent variables feeding the models were commercial-scale production data.
