As of 2009, the discipline of Web engineering is a well-established and mature ?eld of research within the software engineering, database, information te- nology, and other related communities. By its very nature, Web engineering is, therefore, a multidisciplinary ?eld that is beginning to establish ties even o- side the domain of computer science. As a discipline, Web engineering system- ically applies the knowledge of Web science to the development and evolution of Web-based applications and systems. TheICWEconferencesareamongthe most essential events of the Web engineering community.
