The Man in the Ice - Tapa dura

A total of 150 scientists from 9 countries are currently working on the sensational find of 1991, the Stone Age ice mummy from the Tyrol, the so-called "Iceman". The work of these international researchers now presents the latest and most interesting results for those interested in this subject. The book covers the Iceman's times in both Europe and North America, and provides information on clothing, equipment and environment of the Stone Age man according to the latest research. Some new discoveries were made in 1995, including the discovery of Ice Age clothing exposed by the Tyrolean glaciers as early as 1991, but long kept secret. The results of this research are now available and presented in this book. The three Andes mummies discovered in Peru in autumn, 1995 and also conserved in ice, present the researchers with new puzzles. The first scientific report on the finding, the state of preservation, the clothing and offerings, is published in the book, as well as the first analyses of tissue samples and artefacts. Of special interest is the comparison between the European ice mummy and the Andes mummies.
