The International Qualification Examination, also known as IQEX, is a step along the path of non-U.S. accounting professionals who wish to obtain the U.S. Certified Public Account (CPA) designation. The IQEX exam is not a substitute for the U.S. CPA Examination. The goal of the IQEX is to bridge the gap between the differences in U.S. and international accounting standards. Qualifying candidates who pass the IQEX exam can become licensed as a CPA in the U.S. without passing the CPA exam. Recent changes to IQEX administration have aligned the exam with the content contained in the Regulation section of the Uniform CPA exam. IQEX covers the following subjects: Ethics, Professional and Legal Responsibilities; Business Law; Uniform Commercial Code; Federal Taxation and Accounting Issues; and Recent Regulatory Issues.
