Hardcover; Very Good; No Dust Jacket; 298 pp., frontis. A tight very good + copy, clean and unmarked. Gilt print on spine is not as bold as that of the cover, still very legible however. The author provides a remarkable narrative of his memories of coming to the Pike's Peak region of Colorado in 1860 at the age of 14 years. He also includes, along with the rich history of the area, the Indian troubles it experienced including Sand Creek and the Indian War of 1868. The author's original 1914 book, The Indians of the Pike's Peak Region preceded this work.
