PAUL HURLEY is an artisan chef and founder of Dum Dum Doughnuts. Also known as ‘The Doughnut Man’, he has been baking since he was 16 years old when he went to work for Dunkin’ Donuts, during their first foray into the UK market 20 years ago.
After working with some of the biggest names in the doughnut and food industry, he began a quest to create ‘The best doughnut in the world’. In 2011, 11 years after he set about perfecting a doughnut lower in fat, using only natural ingredients and yet uncompromising on irresistible deliciousness, Paul founded Dum Dum Doughnuts. This small, independent business has gone from strength to strength.
Paul and his team of professional artisan Donuttiers have used a lot of dough and a lot of oil to perfect the baked doughnut. Following their unprecedented success with a pop-up stall at Westfield Stratford Shopping Centre, London, Dum Dum Doughnuts opened their first Donutterie in Box Park, Shoreditch, London in 2014.
Paul has also partnered with Harrods to become the only doughnut supplier to the prestigious store. He sells customized full-size cake doughnuts for weddings and events and has a number of high-profile fans of his doughnuts.
