Written in a lively and engaging manner, this new work places evolutionary psychology within the broad sweep of our primate heritage and the full scope of our evolutionary story. Beginning with the basics of evolution, the book first unpacks the far--ranging saga of human evolution, then moves on to examine motor behavior and emotions, sexual behavior and mate selection, and higher cognition.

WHAT YOUR COLLEAGUES HAVE TO SAY
"I know of no other book that has done such a good job of integrating knowledge from human archaeology and primatology into a text on evolutionary psychology. The writing is clear and easy to understand. Students will like this text."
?Charles Crawford, Department of Psychology, Simon Fraser University
"The writing style is also a pleasure to read: straightforward with a nice leavening of wit, anecdote, and colloquialism. I found the text a page turner, which is unusual in a work of this sort. The students will be drawn on by the text, rather than be bogged down in it."
?Colin Beer, D.Phil., Department of Psychology, Rutgers University
"I like the balance between the introductory material on the historical development of evolution, sociobiology, evolutionary psychology, and human evolution on the one hand, and the more detailed focus on emotions, cooperation, development, and cognition on the other hand."
?Brian Richmond, PhD, Department of Anthropology, George Washington University
