[From back cover] This album of historical photographs brings back the good old days at the San Francisco seaside: feeding the fawns at Sutro Heights or climbing to the highest turret of the castle-like Cliff House, celebrating birthdays among the slides and pools of Sutro Baths, picnicking on Ocean Beach or braving the roller coasters at Playland. While the city's seaside is much-changed since then, the magic it once conjured for many a San Franciscan or out-of-towner remains in the pictures in this book and in many a family album as well.
