Sinopsis
"Professionals within Library and Information Services" (LIS) have seen a great change in their roles and occupation during the recent years. This book meets this challenge in the pedagogical area. There is a paradigmatic change in the pedagogic trends, as new brain research tells us more about human ability to learn. The shift from teaching to learning points to the fact that the learner must do the learning work, and the teaching role will be better served if the teaching librarian moves from being a guide to a facilitator. At the same time, the higher education library is undergoing a move towards e-resources. To adapt to this, it is important to underpin the purpose of libraries in a global context, and in a historical frame. Methods for assisting the learner are assessed in this book. Acerca del autor
Kristin Roijen is an academic librarian at Oslo University College. For the last 20 years she has been working in academic libraries, questioning learning processes. During the past five years, she also worked as a teacher on an information literacy course. She has written articles and papers in the field, both in Norwegian and English language. She has also been elected as head of Norwegian Association of Special Libraries (NFF).
