Críticas:
Surreal Photography: Creating the Impossible is all about creating unique and thought provoking images, whatever camera equipment or software you use.
The book begins by talking us through what surreal photography means, before going into the different types of cameras available and the pros of each for the creation of surreal images. It involves quite a detailed guide into each type of camera and how they work.
The second chapter looks at phone-ography and compact cameras. It discusses what apps are available for in phone manipulation of your images, and shows you a few ideas for effects you can achieve. It also shows you how in camera effects on compact cameras can create some good abstract photos.
Using camera technique to get abstract photos is covered, before the book goes into discussing editing packages and what is available. Listed are free, mid range and best options for editing, the best options being top of the range and usually expensive.
We are taken through some basic photo editing skills, essential for creating surreal photography. The rest of the book is then dedicated to showing you abstract photos and explaining how they were made in basic step by step guides. Each one shows the tools and equipment needed to create the image, making it easy to decipher whether the image is something for you to try or not.
Overall, the book is very comprehensive, explaining even more about cameras and photography in general then you'd expect. It's an ideal title if you want to know the secret methods behind creating photos that look like they shouldn't be able to exist in the real world. --Ephotozine Website

Long before the advent of Photoshop, photographers have been creating impossible images - ever since Man Ray superimposed the sound holes of a violin onto his model s back. With the advent of digital tools surreal photographers today are bound only by their
imaginations, Surreal Photography: Creating the
Impossible reveals the latest developments in the field and demystifies the techniques used by modern masters of the genre.
Written and curated by noted photography journalist and photographer Daniela Bowker, and featuring contributions from numerous artists, including Natalie Dybisz, Jon Jacobsen and Patrick
Desmet, the book draws on the expertise of some of the most talented and innovative people in
the business of image manipulation to present their surreal photographs and walk you through
how they were made. They have prepared some fantastic showcases, supported by equally useful step-by-step explanations.
Each piece featured in this fascinating book represents a journey into the imagination, giving a wonderful insight into each photographer's vision, and hopefully inspiring you to create your own surreal masterpiece. --Photoplus Magazine
