David Buckley has a doctorate from Liverpool University and is the author of six music books, including David Bowie: Strange Fascination. An earlier edition of this guide to David Bowie's music was personally chosen and reprinted by Bowie to promote his albums Earthling and hours - In 2012, The Guardian called him 'the best of his [Bowie's] umpteen biographers.'
