Escaping his dungeon imprisonment, Conan goes on a quest throughout the lands of Hyboria to find the Heart of Ahriman, which will give him the power to defeat Xaltotun and save his kingdom. Robert E. Howard is often considered the father of the "sword and sorcery" genre of fiction, of which Conan has remained an enduring hero. "Conan the Conqueror" was also published under the title "The Hour of the Dragon".
