Review:

The appearance of Di Berardino s Historical Atlas of Ancient Christianity is a major event in Early Christian Studies! Lavishly illustrated with maps and photographs, this volume is a worthy successor to van der Meer and Mohrmann. --David G. Hunter, University of Kentucky

The 59 regional maps with different scales of the Roman Empire and its neighbours make it a most useful tool for teaching as well as an engaging introduction to the various landscapes of Ancient Christianity. --Claire Sotinel, Université Paris-Est Créteil

It is clear, comprehensive and user friendly. I recommend it highly for students and colleagues. --Michele Renee Salzman, University of California, Riverside

This new Historical Atlas is a ground-breaking achievement that combines in a unique way detailed historical information about the first centuries of Christianity with carefully executed, detailed maps and illustrations of important monuments and places, enhanced by a rich and up-to-date scholarly bibliography. --Karla Pollman, University of St. Andrews

A wonderful resource for historians and anyone interested in the late antiquity and early Christian world. --Averil Cameron, University of Oxford

The book fills a gap in the market and newcomers to the field will find plenty to whet their appetites for more. They will be able clearly and quickly to follow the major contours of the spread of Christianity across the Ancient World, they will be able to find the locations of towns, cities, and provinces; and they will be able to follow up their discoveries in the research literature that is so thoroughly cited. Without doubt, an excellent and important acquisition for any library, or university course dealing in Late Antiquity or Early Christianity. --Daniel King, Bryn Mawr Classical Review

Produced with flawless production values, informed and informative, the "Historical Atlas of Ancient Christianity" is impressively informed and informative. Exceptionally well written, organized and presented, the "Historical Atlas of Ancient Christianity" is enthusiastically recommended for seminary, community, and academic library Christian Studies reference collections. It would be especially appropriate for non-specialist general readers with an interest in studying the early Christian movement. The "Historical Atlas of Ancient Christianity" would also make a perfect Memorial Fund acquisition choice for any library collection. --Midwest Book Review
