Explore fabric folding and layering to form three-dimensional versions of traditional pieced blocks! Follow simple step-by-step instructions for 70 traditional and original blocks. A variety of 12 unusual projects includes wallhangings to fit both narrow and wide spaces, a shopping bag, a breeze catcher, and a trinket box. This is the first folded block book to provide such a large collection of patterns and projects based on traditional designs. The blocks range from easy to 'Wow!' and the projects range from simple to challenging. No special tools are required to make these fat-quarter-friendly blocks. Great for simple gifts, retreat projects, and guild challenges, there's something for quilters of every skill level. As a bonus, the book is the ultimate resource of folded blocks for quilters who design their own work.

Geesje Baron, co-owner/operator of a dairy farm west of Winnipeg, Manitoba, has taught quilting since 1999. She and her co-author of 3-D Folded Blocks are originally from the Netherlands. She enjoys the challenge of making new patterns and passing on tips and tricks to students. She currently does custom machine quilting and markets custom-dyed and painted fabric (www.conundrumquilts.com). This is their first book.
Esther Vermeer, owner of a farm in rural Manitoba, rediscovered her love of sewing in 2000 following a chance meeting with co-author Geesje Baron. She designs and makes quilts and teaches workshops on a variety of subjects. 3-D Folded Blocks, the first book for both women, is a complete collaboration, a pooling of the ideas and abilities of two very talented quilters.
